A Fiddling With Fiber Post: Have a Yawn and Yarn at This B&B

Hi F&F,

Some people loath hotels. They claim it’s the coldness of the decor or they confess the phobia that there are cooties under the covers.  Both reasons may be valid, but I don’t have those issues. I love hotels.

I’ve stayed in a lot of hotels when traveling for business and pleasure. I’ve stayed in fabulous places and I’ve stayed in places that were faded and frayed around the edges. I’ve stayed in places where it seemed there were 200 staff members for every guest; and I’ve stayed in places where it seemed like it was a one person operation; with that person always on duty and acting as chief, cook and bottle washer (leading me to wonder when they slept?). I’ve been in hotel rooms that were so high-tech I felt I needed a degree from MIT to manage the shower; and some so low tech I expected the front desk clerk to hand me a tallow candle and a chamber pot when I retired for the evening.

So yes; I’ve slept around; but I’ve never slept in a hotel room like the one featured in a post on the Times Union website. A hotel room in The Hotel Pelirocco  is festooned in fiber. Fiber artist Kate Jenkins and her assistants designed, knitted and crocheted a room containing the plausible (bedspreads and pillows) and the fanciful (telephone and English breakfast).

What do you think? Is it a dream or a nightmare?

Peace,

I enjoyed the photo . . . but, no, I wouldn’t be interested in staying in that room. 😀

I would love to see that in person 🙂

  3. The pix is very nice … the room would make me fill a litlle dizzy with the stripes
plus my husband would feel like he was at his Grammy’s. I’ll have to pass on that room. ~~~~ : – )

    • Hi Isadora,

Thanks for stopping by the blog. You have a good point. Feeling dizzy and thoughts of Grammy are sure to put a damper on any romance happening in that room. 😉

      Peace,
