Weekly Photo Challenge: Faces

Hi F&F,

I’m a little shame faced because I don’t have something new for this week’s photo challenge.   It’s not as if I haven’t seen a few interesting faces this week; after all New York has a cast of millions from which to choose. The problem was, I couldn’t figure out how to snap the pictures of their faces, without getting punched in my face. I’m not prepared to take one on the chin or get a black eye for this blog. So my photo for this week’s challenge is a repost; a repeat; a reprise; a cop-out.

Here is my entry for this weeks photo challenge.

Peace,

About atreegrowsinbklyn

I’m an analog girl living in a digital world. I’m happy except when I’m sad. I’m serious, smart and sophisticated except when I’m silly, obtuse and crude. I’m ambitious and disciplined; except when I’m apathetic and self indulgent. I‘m thoughtful, generous and honest; except when I’m insensitive, cheap and lying. I’m grateful; I’m grateful; I am grateful.

Those faces look so serious. I’m used to kids on stage beaming from ear to ear.

    • That’s very true. These kids were preparing to step dance. If you are not familiar with it,Stepping is a highly choreographed dance routine executed with military precision. It is based in the traditions of African American fraternities and sororities and competition is a key element.
Here is a link for a mainstream film that featured the dance. Interesting the clip is posted with French subtitles.

Love the dripping red curtain behind these sombre, touching faces. I am with you on the difficulty of this challenge and it took me ages to decide how to go with it . . .

I love your choice… and, like you, I won’t take one on the chin to get a picture too. 😆

  4. I’m glad you did a reposed. I like your version of the faces. It reminds me of hope, innocense, of how lucky we are to have children around us to fill this world with their smiles. Beautiful post.

  5. Lol, I *did* get hit in the face for the shot I posted but luckily I didn’t end up with a black eye… Lil Miss Awesome might have a New York attitude but she still punches like a baby 😛
